Along the edge of the forest you arrive in Vorderbach, where the path descends to the small connecting road in the valley. Recovered in this way, the following ascent does not pose a major challenge and you will soon have great valley views again from the meadow path (3). Now a springy forest path leads to a wood of young deciduous trees and on to the edge of the forest, where the first lounger in the shade of a tree invites you to linger and enjoy the view. But watch out: the sudden branch to the right should not be missed. On the following spruce forest passage you gain further altitude and quickly start dreaming. As soon as the forest has closed again, rugged rocks on the mountain slope of the light coniferous forest set special accents. With still fresh strength you can continue the steady ascent, cross the first meadow and enjoy the wonderful view of the valley. The first meters of altitude under the shady canopy are quickly made and an airy refuge offers a beautiful view (2) of the Rench and Bad Peterstal. Keep to the left and after a few meters you will come to the underpass of the railway, where the first ascent into the forest begins. The fun ends far too quickly when the path returns to the convenient shore path to the refreshing Kneipp facility within sight. This delightful excursion to lively water is a perfect start, especially on hot days. You should be sure-footed, because the path now leads over the large boulders of the stream bed upstream. The adventure begins immediately, because the Peterstaler Schwarzwaldsteig leads the hiker via a short staircase directly to the lively rushing Rench. From the train station, follow the short access path to the portal (1) on the Rench. It starts at the train station in Bad Peterstal (S), where you can park well, but you can also travel comfortably and stress-free by train.
